ANDREW LyKO
Contemporary Fine Artist from Rialto, California
EARLY LIFE AND INSPIRATION
Lyko’s journey as an artist began in the vibrant streets of Los Angeles, California. As a Mexican-American youth, he turned to street art to navigate the challenges of his environment and avoid the violence that surrounded him. Lyko’s earliest inspirations came from cartoons, which opened a door of creativity that forever changed his perception of the world.
“To me, a cartoon character is as real as anything else in life”
ARTISTIC STYLE
Lyko’s artworks utilize acrylic, oil bar, ink, and airbrush, blending these mediums in a natural, intuitive way to tell his truth. Growing up in Southern California, Lyko was deeply influenced by urban street culture. His teenage years were spent breakdancing, spray-painting, and exploring the world around him. These experiences infuse the art with a raw, energetic narrative that resonates with many generations.
